Mirax, called “Mira” by most, was top in her class. She quickly rose to the rank of Knight, but was hesitant to choose a Padawan. Many disappointed younglings spoke of her overly critical stare at exhibitions. Finding the exercise grounds at the Temple too limiting, she frequently ventured into the lower levels of Coruscant using the city itself as an obstacle course. After returning from the Battle of Geonosis, she was pressured by the Council to take an apprentice due to the reduced number of qualified Jedi.
After testing several, and deciding that they would be better suited in one of the Service Corps., she happened upon Ty. Introducing herself to him and asking him to follow her. She began her test by getting his opinions on a few aspects of the Order and explaining to him the importance of the Service Corps., specifically the Agricultural Corp. After leading him to the gardens, she asked him for his lightsabers, probing his emotions in the Force. After several silent, shocked minutes, Ty came to terms with the possibility of not continuing his training and handed over his blades.
After discerning that he relinquished his weapons with no anger, she returned them to him, saying that “lightsabers are a weapon befitting a Padawan.” Then, tested him physically. Challenging him to keep up in her urban obstacle course. The pair raced through the city, leaping from speeder to speeder, rebounding off of walls and the hovering advertisement boards, all to the astonishment and ire of the motorists. After deciding that Ty would be an acceptable Padawan, she lept back at him igniting her lightsaber and making a sweeping attack. The test quickly became a lesson in improvisation and the need to be aware of one’s surroundings.
